Chief Executive appointment
The Premier of South Australia has announced Helen Fulcher has been appointed as Chief Executive of the Environment Protection Authority.
Helen has nearly twenty years experience in the public service interstate and overseas, and most recently has served as Executive Director in Housing SA.

The EPA will soon be surveying our stakeholders to find out about their perceptions of the EPA and their level of satisfaction around the services we provide. This survey will continue EPA’s commitment to understanding its stakeholders by building on the market research surveys undertaken in 2002 and 2006. >> More
Landfill Guidelines
EPA Landfill Guidelines have been the subject of extended consultation
and discussion by the EPA with all stakeholders within the waste
industry. The Landfill Guidelines have now been consolidated into
a single document, including a staged Implementation Plan.
The Environment Protection Authority Board has sent the Guidelines
to all key stakeholders, including local councils and businesses
within the waste industry, for an opportunity for final comment.

Industry initiatives
The EPA continues to work with industry to repair previous environmental
damage and prevent future harmful effects on the environment.

In response to community concern, the Environment Protection Authority undertook air quality monitoring, an odour survey and an audit of 15 sites licensed by the EPA in the Kilburn and Gepps Cross area during 2005 and 2006. The project has helped to identify potential areas for improved performance by local industry that may reduce impacts on the local environment.
